RECENT DEVELOPMENTS IN BUILDING ACQUISITION !!

After about a year and a half, the City of Los Angeles awarded to the Latino Theater Company and the Latino Museum the lease for the old Los Angeles Theater Center in downtown Los Angeles. Using a grant from the California Cultural and Historic Endowment (CCHE) to renovate and upgrade the building, the old Theater Center will now house a museum and a theater with new and exciting programming. This effort will add to the
revitalization of the Downtown Historic District and at the same time become a cultural center, the first and only one of its kind in Los Angeles, and certainly the only one with a Latino emphasis in the United States. Architectural renditions of the external facade and of the lobby gallery:

The renovations are expected to complete in the first quarter of 2007. Until the grand opening, the Latino Museum will continue to have events in other venues and the Museum will continue to work on the educational curriculum guides to have them ready for dissemination to the our students on-line, on site and at the schools.
